EXCESSIVE WATERING EYES

I have had normal tension glaucoma for about 12 years, I’ve had a variety of eye drops for 10 years and a Deep Scleretomy operation on my right eye 18 months ago which now needs a Bleb adjustment. For the last few years I have had a real problem with watering eyes which has gone worse in my right eye since the operation. I do use Dry Eye drops several times a day which don’t make any difference and I have mentioned this to my Consultant but it is brushed off as an over reaction of my eyes to using various eye drops over a long period.

Does anyone else have this problem and found a solution to it? I have distorted vision since the operation as the pressure in my right eye is only 4 but I have become accustomed to that, it is the excessive watering with tears accumulating on my eye lids that is preventing me from seeing .

I would be grateful of any suggestions to improve this as it is preventing me from going out at times.

Try antihistamines see if it helps..I was on new drops and my eyes watered and watered could hardly see..After the antihistamines and stopping the drops it cleared up.

Thank you for your suggestion, I will try them. I’m willing to try anything to reduce this watering.

I find that Xailin Night helps, along with drops during the day. And using a heated eye mask twice a day.

Thanks for replying. I never thought about a heated eye mask, I’m definitely going to give that a try along with night creme and drops.

I would also suggest that you ask a doctor to check whether you have a blocked tear duct. I had this problem in my right eye and it caused me a lot of vision problems as tears just sat on the surface of my eye all the time. I had a very successful operation to solve this annoying problem.

Thanks for your reply. That sounds exactly the same as I am experiencing, the tearing is a lot worse than my distorted sight. I will definitely enquire about this at my next appointment.
