A new minimally invasive glaucoma surgical (MIGS) procedure called Miniject-iStar

medical innovative device designed for patients with open angle glaucoma has launched in Australia with Dr. Nathan Kerr performing the first commercial cases on 1st. November

Dr. Kerr said Miniject device "aims to deliver safe, meaningful and sustained control

of intraocular pressure (IOP) by enhancing the natural outflow of aqueous humor.

My question is really to Glaucoma UK and that is have you heard of this and will

it come to the UK . It looks like another option for us especially if we have a failed

procedure. Best wishes to you all.

Well I’m glad you raised it so I got to learn about that op. My consultant mentioned last week a new op that was being done which gave another option to the trab so I was curious if that would be the one. It’s good to know what’s being bought in new as it gives us some hope 😊

Hello. The Miniject has been used in the UK but not that often. It is a fairly new procedure but there are a number of hospitals that offer this on the NHS.
