Just an update as promised !

Apparently I have just found out from a copy of a letter sent to my GP from the clinic, I have Right primary open angle glaucoma, and left ocular hypertension, all news to me !

And to quote, On examination today the bleb is a little flat and cystic, however the intraocular pressure remains well controlled in the right eye without drops at 12 mmHg the left at 19, and this is consistant with previous visits. Field tests have not appeared to have progressed.

Iam therefore satisfied the situation is stable although the blurring in the right eye is due to some emergence of nuclear sclerosis cataract, I will book him into a consultation with a consultant ophthalmologist for a conversation regarding pros and cons of cataract surgery in the context of previous history of Trabeculectomy.

So there we have it, have to wait now for the next episode.

Hope you all are keeping well

regards and best wishes.

So now you know,it certainly has taken a long time for you to find all this out and from a letter sent to GP!!!. So you only have glaucoma in one eye, with luck and monitoring it wil stay that way and it's is good news that your pressures are stable and no further deterioration in your actual vision. Lets hope you get the consultation soon and get the blurriness dealt with. I had my ops other way round from you cataract first and trab second.

All is good here apart from the weather which has been horrible and I did manage to fall over a branch whilst walking Lu on Friday night . I landed on my hands and knees but only my dignity was hurt.

Typing this has taken so long as the words keep doubling up and I have to keep deleting them.

It's my niece's birthday today so we are going to a wee get together to celebrate.

Lovely to hear from you as always and hope all is good with you ? X

That sounds like good news, evidently trabs often bring on cataracts, so that’s not unusual.

That sounds like good news.

I have had trabs in both eyes, and subsequent cataract surgery in each eye, most recently last January. Both were successful and my visual fields, although significantly reduced, have been stable for some time now as have the pressures at 7mm and 11mm at my last review two weeks ago. My consultant is happy to move to annual review, although I will be having an interim check at my local opticians.

I wish you well.
