Car Insurance after Glaucoma diagnosis
Hi, mine didn't change at all. Basically they said I was a better risk than people that never get their eyes checked! So as long as the DVLA gave me a licence they were happy and there was no extra charge.
Mine didn’t change either. I declared it to my then current insurer and as with Cornwalleyes they were happy as long as there were no restrictions imposed by DVLA. Subsequent insurance companies have been the same.
No change in mine either. On renewal I was told they’d ticked the box saying I’d informed the DVLA and to let them know if there was any change.
No change in mine which I was surprised about ...
I informed my car insurers that I had glaucoma and they made a note I’d informed them and informed DVLA, but it didn’t affect my premium. They just said to notify them if at any point in the future my situation changed, that is, either my doctor or DVLA considered I was no longer fit to drive.
Thanks again for your comments
Always best to infrom your insurers. I would like to ask if anyone has experience of nerve pain and acute glaucoma, I'm sure what we all fear most is losing our sight but the neuropathic pain I have has reached an all time level, there seems to be no hope of me seeing a neurologist in the forseeeable future, can anyone tell me how do I cope with the condition please?
