Feeling fed-up!

Having a problem with my eye drops once again .. They have already been changed once as the double dose of Timol and something else caused bad dry eye so I am now on Monopost. This was fine until my catact op and I was told not to use the drops in my right eye (the one that had the op) to see if the pressures came down by themselves. On Monday just gone I finished the eye drops issued for the cataract op and was told to restart the Monopost in the right eye. It has been dreadful, with stinging, pricking, itching. Didn't get a lot of sleep last night and feel like I want to claw away at the eye (but obviously am not). So guess for some reason the Monopost doesn't like my right eye any more! Will have to ring the eye clinic to find out what can be done. Probably have to try yet more new drops and hope thre are no side effects.. Also my right eye feels tight and is aching all the while and I keep getting reflections at night time from the lights in my home. Can see a ring of light all round the eye. I mentioned this when I went for a check-up on Monday just gone, but they just said it might go away as the eye hasn't settled down yet and could take up to 6 months. Am having cataract op in my left eye on September 6th, so hope I do not have the same problems as don't think I could put up with it for 6 months.

It could be that your eye is still inflamed after your op, after my last op ( not cataract so sorry can not help with other problems you are having ) I had to go back on steroid drops and non steroid drops to calm the eye down, hope it settles down soon.

Thanks for your suggestion. May well be as you say - if it hasn't cleared up by the time of my next cataract op will see what they have today. Probably easier to speak to the consultant instead of trying to get through to the eye clinic and it is only two weeks away before the op.

You've had a bit of a rough time with eye drops, the last thing you need is your eye to decide it doesn't like Monoprost now. I know it's not long till your second cataract op so you just want things to settle down.I hope you get some sleep tonight and definitely contact the consultant tomorrow. Let us know how you get on x

Hi, as my next op is only two weeks away now, thought I might wait and ask the consultant on the day about my right eye if things haven't settled. It its really hard frustrating work to speak to anyone at the eye clinic. Did get a better sleep last night and the eye seems a little better today regarding the stinging and burning, but aches quite bit which probably is not anything to do with the drops but that the lens as settled down yet. xx

As long as it different get any worse, don't take any chances with your eye. That's good you got better sleep and I really hope the lens settles down soon. X

Thanks. Yes, if it continues or gets worse, will definitely ring the eye clinic. x

It shouldn't be such hard work to reach someone to speak to at clinic. It probably puts a lot of people off phoning when they really should. X
