Hello. Brinzolamide can cause nightmares and also cause a bad taste in the mouth. Closing your eye and pressing on your tearduct for up to 2 minutes after you use your eyedrops, can help stop the drop from getting to the back of the throat into the blood stream, encouraging side effects. If you take a look at the Monopost PIL there should be diagrams showing you how too. Doing this with any prescribed eye drops apart from dry eye drops is recommended.

The taste is awful. Thanks so much for replying !

I've been taking Brinzolamide (in Azarga) for 10 years, and I never knew it could cause nightmares! Thanks for this.

Hi, I was on Monopost drops for 2 years. Not experienced any issues. I had Trabeculectomy surgery in June. Now well recovered. No need to use any drops!! Good luck.

Hi, I've been taking Monopost for 9 months, and have a lot of strange dreams and nightmares. Going to see consultant next week, will let you know what she says, as I'm going to ask for a change of eye drops. Had glaucoma for 25 years, quite a few surgeries, but never had nightmares so regularly since taking these drops!

Thank you . When I see my consultant I will also

ask him. It disturbs my sleep. Just woke up

from horrid dreams again!!

I sympathise with you! It’s horrible, and sometimes I dread falling asleep.

I’m glad you said that. I woke up last night crying about a dream. It affects how you sleep. Can’t carry on with this. I take monopost and brinzolomide drops.

It’s every night !!!

I feel for you, sometimes I miss a dose just to give me a break now and again. Know this is advice that everyone won't agree with, but it's temporary until I see consultant. Hoping there will be a solution then. As I said, you have my sympathy xx
