Can anyone advice. I am going on a road trip to a hot country for 3 weeks and including plane journey . My eye drops need keeping refrigerated until opened. Can anyone recommend a medication travel fridge or container ?

Thank you

I had this problem a few years ago after a eye trabeculectomy, when going on a cycling trip across Austria where it was about 30 degrees during the day. My local chemist sold me a Frio wallet, which is meant for insulin. You wet it each day and the evaporation keeps it cool. It worked well. On arrival at the gasthof at the end of each day I handed the wallet to the innkeeper who put it straight into the beer cooling room - every inn had one. A Google search shows these wallets are still widely availableFor car based trips in the UK I bought a small 12v travel fridge from Argos designed to cool drinks or keep coffee warm (there was a hot/cold switch). This has a plug that fits the cigarette lighter socket. Unfortunately the switch failed after a few uses and I ended up with piping hot eye drops! But in principle this is a possible solution.

Enjoy your trip.

Glaucoma UK used to sell the Frio wallets. I also find them very useful and easy to use. My wallet is a bright purple , so easy to find in my bag.

I also use the Frio wallets which I purchased from Glaucoma Uk I think. They’ve worked for me.

Brilliant thank you . Looked them up and they look brilliant t . Says they need not be stored air tight can I ask do you put them in you had luggage or is that not sufficient sire circulation ? Thanks Su

Yes I just keep them in my hand luggage and try and let air circulate round the pouch freely.
