Anyone had a Preserflo Micro Shunt ?

Expecting a Trabeculectomy next week , I have now been offered a Preserflo Micro Shunt instead. I see there are many benefits with the shunt , especially a shorter operation and fewer hospital visits which may be less risky with Covid about.

Apparently the main drawback is that the pressure may not be reduced enough. I have Normal Tension Glaucoma and an Epi retinal membrane in the eye due for operation.

Has anyone else had experience of this type of Micro shunt ? I should be grateful to hear from anyone...with any positive or negative results, thank you.

As I am due to have a preserflo shunt next week, if you would like I will let you know how things go. The risks seem fewer than for a Trabeculectomy because it is less invasive, and should be fewer follow up visits.

Apparently this particular type of shunt seem to be very good and there are a lot of positive reports online. Somewhere I watched an interesting online video about the pros and cons of shunts and Trab operations, sorry I cannot remember where at the moment As I have been informed by Trish it had been called an Innfocus Micro shunt.

Please post how you get on, as just back from hospital after being told the best thing for me is to have a stent in my right eye, procedure to happen in the next couple of weeks. I had a trabeculectomy in my left eye in 2016, so also looking for any information or advice. All the best for your stent procedure.
