Covid muddle

I have been anticipating a Trabeculectomy in a few weeks and have a pre op check next week. This morning I recieved a 3 page letter to say that the operation would be cancelled and I may have to wait up to 6 months. When I phoned to cancel the pre op check I was told that nothing had been cancelled and the letter had been sent in error (along with several others) I was also informed that some patients were being offered shunts instead of the Trabeculectomy.

So if anyone recieves a cancellation letter it is well worth double checking .

this is good advice. I have relied on the medical secretaries throughout lockdown. They have been unfailingly helpful, can't praise them too much for their ability to negotiate the muddles that have occurred. Hope your op goes well and recovery is uneventful.

Thank you for your good wishes. I agree the medical secretaries are so helpful as are most of the overworked hospital staff.
