I am taking Latanoprost and my doctor says the pressure is still a bit too high. I have tried Dorzolamide (problem with side effects) and Tiopex (didn't work) so the only remaining type is alpha agonist. So far this has not been prescribed. However I also have narrow angles (not bad enough for iridotomy) and these drops cause pupil dilation. Will this be safe?

I too have narrow angles and I use Ganfort a combination of bimatoprost and a beta blocker timolol. This keeps my pressures under control.

Hello anonimouse5,
An Alpha agonist is normally used after cataract surgery or laser. Apart from Alphagan which doesn't cause the pupil to dilate which would be a safer option. It would be a good idea to discuss the options further with your consultant.
I am using brimonidine, an alpha agonist, the only drops that have not produced respiratory problems so far. They seem to work well and I'm told I have narrow angles but I can't see anything in the cautions in the BNF that mention a problem with narrow angles.
