Good Morning, new to this area of the site. I have been on Latanoprast for a few months now, no bad effects - except my hair has gone from dead straight to curly! I've always wanted curls. Has anyone else experienced this? I am on other medication for Asthma, Bronchiectasis and Osteoporosis, but Latanoprast is the only new thing I'm on.
Glaucome Latanoprast: Good Morning, new to this... - Glaucoma UK
Glaucome Latanoprast
Sorry it is LATANOPROST, and is for Glaucoma.
was on it for a long time, didn't turn my hair any curlier
Hi there - I've only just found this website...hence the long gap between your post & my response! I was diagnosed with glaucoma about 7 or so years ago, and started treatment with a beta-blocker treatment, which worked until about a year ago when my eye pressure shot up...! I'm now on a prostaglandin med (Monoprost - latanoprost) which is working well...(I'm glad to be off the beta blocker - I was feeling short of breath when walking fast or climbing stairs - I'm far too "young" & fit to be feeling like that...!!) Anyway, to go back to your possible curly hair side-effect - I've always had curly hair, but around the time that I started taking glaucoma meds, my hair become much curlier - tighter & frizzier...! However, menopause occurred around the same time, so I had always attributed it to hormonal changes...?? Also, unlike you, I didn't start taking Latanoprost meds until about a year ago, so whether the beta-blocker meds also cause the hair to curl...who knows...?! Anyway, just saw your thread so thought I'd my bit...! A nice side-effect for you, and much easier than having perms...!! ;o)
