has any body had problems with paint?

after having the spare room decorated and basically finding the smell going straight to my chest it made me wonder? read a article about m1 in paint, and how it prolongs the shelf life, but it seems as though this is causing no end of problems to people, i know nowadays its all suppose to be quick drying and odour free but in some ways the new paint seems worse than the older slower drying emulsion. its worth googling mi as it seems as though there putting it in everything, even in womens makeup! and with the lableing laws they dont have to list it in ingrediants, most severe case i read about so far was reported in major papers as woman cant go in lounge since decorated, any views will be read with interest, thankyou,
