Acupuncture is one of the alternatives you see mentioned for PN. It makes sense to me as I find that touching some places on my legs is felt quite a way away, but I've yet to try it. Let us know how you get on.
I had three sessions of acupuncture years ago and it helped me. That was before l was diagnosised with neuropathy and now l am thinking l need to give it another try. Thanks for posting. Granni B
I think things that reduce stress help . I think acupuncture may be brilliant. Let us all know
Hi Annparas - what sort of peripheral neuropathy is yours? As you have tried vitamins and herbs - do you think it is due to poor circulation ?-
There's interesting info on nahypothyroidism.org when you go to the Dieting heading.
There are certain foods which have enzymes which can help the circulation, such as blueberries blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and pineapple. Some types of vinegar contain reservatrol which help your artery blood flow.
I have been trying some herbs from a Chinese herbalist for a couple of months now but not feeling better in fact its affecting my sleep too so might try something else
Have you had tests for thyroid and diabetes ? Have you had tests for mineral deficiencies such as zinc and copper, and vitamin D especially D3? Is your folic acid and folate level ok? How are your ferritin and iron levels? Are you in US?
No Australia my iron is a bit low but will check the other ones ones thank you
Hope you get the thyroid and diabetes test done to rule them out. May be you have an autoimmune disease which you know nothing about such as gluten intolerance, dairy egg which most gastro's will test for. Gluten damages the thyroid and can cause muscle weakness and fatigue and neuropathy. Diabetes can do this too.
I had a private test through a pharmacy and had multi grain dairy egg - and diabetes. I had periods of peripheral neuropathy which has improved after removing food intolerances and cutting down on my carbs. Sure you will the cause if you have some basic tests.
I don’t have diabetes thyroid they say it’s good but I don’t think so.. I want to try gluten-free but cannot stop eggs
