If you have seizures what medications are you taking? I am trying to determine if any specific medications or combinations of meds link to the seizures or other symptoms that are common with FND.

Who has seizures but does not take gabapentin (such as Neurotin, Gralise, Gabarone)or any type of muscle relaxers?
I am unable to take anything as I have dystonic reactions to any kind of anti seizure medication.
I blame these medications for my first CD attack 11 years ago.
yes some have found a conncection to medication. One young girl found that her Amitriptyline mixed with Nortriptyline (should never take at the same time) was causing seizures. There have been a few others, as well. We insist that all medication changese be at the advisement of you doctor. Some have also found around 6 months of tarting perioed.
HI I TAKE SERTRALINE WHICH IS A ANTIDEPRESSION AND DIAZAPAM RELAXANT AND TRIZIDINE WHICH IS A MUSCLE RELAXENT PRECRIBED FOR PEOPLE WITH HEAD INJURYS AND M.S ALL PRECRIBED WITH CONSENT OF CONSULTANT
Before I was diagnosed with fnd I wasn't taking any meds at all, then I was put on citalopram, diazepam, my symptoms got worse over 2 months, jerky movements, spasms, couldn't function normally anymore, was also given clonazepam and baclofen. My symptoms didn't improve. I've often wandered whether a side effect from citalopram(spasms) could have had anything to do with with making my original symptoms(really bad shaking)worse.
Can't take Zoloft, Lyrica or other SSRIs or NSRIs. They all cause a massive clamping of my muscles. Instead, I have successfully taken the occasionally valium (diazepam), Clonidine alternating with Physiotens every 5 hours, and very high doses of Magnesium, all of which help with very strong /far too strong muscle tone, bring them back to a more normal level.
