My seizures are becoming more frequen... - Functional Neurol...
My seizures are becoming more frequent and more paralizing. Those of you that have seizures would you share your experience with me please.
I have very little memory of my seizures - they are all quite blurry and I have to try to piece together everything that happened. Generally, they are kind of painful because my muscles tense up and sometimes lock from me shaking so much. Some of mine have lasted close to 2 hours, with me shaking for short periods of time and then stopping movement altogether before starting shaking again. Sometimes I pass out, and have difficulty breathing, and have to be jolted awake by whoever I'm with. However, I find that if someone is with me, it makes it easier if they are very reassuring and tell me to let it happen and pass and not to fight it. Try to have consistent breathing, it helps your muscles relax and focus on a specific spot - a picture on the wall, a person's face, anything.
I have around 30 siezures a day they wake me up during night also as well as having small ones in my sleep. I have maybe 8 different types. I have full body shakey ones like the more normal type. I also have severe and painful spasms with siezures. facial siezures where my face will become extremely distorted and twisted top jaw will twist right bottom to far left feels like going to dislocate and will lock sometimes for half hour or more really painful, I have severe contortions durind=g a lot of siezures when things like my arm will corkscrew then twins round bend and go up my back and lock and has damaged muscles and shoulders so permanently painful now, my legs will spasm and end up straight and by my ear (not a pretty site, speech will go or be jibberish, eyes will roll to whites, more symptoms but I am conscious throughout and fully aware of my surroundings and what is being said to me, just sometimes I will loose consciousness for few seconds as seizure starts. The longest I have had lasted 36 hours.
