Hi, it is hard to live with the swaying . I started in 2018 , looking like I was drunk my gait was over two feet both ways and in the early days I was stopped twice by police they thought I had escaped from a facility luckily I could explain what was happening. My wife now my carer has to be with me when out as I have drifted into the road ( was bumped once, no damage) and can be dangerous as I miss steps . You do get funny looks when out , but I now wear a hidden disabilities lanyard and badge which helps as shops and services know something is wrong. I went to a talk for FND at kings hospital and was amazed at the variety of FND in people. Because I kept walking into walls and falling through open doors, I had to re-learn how to walk again with the help of neuro-physio. I now still sway (look drunk) but am back to 60% normal . I find it gets worse in cold weather and if I have an infection. As for the wave feeling I get this but in my head it’s like feeling sea sick but sitting down (very weird). I hope you are getting the help you need, although I found once you are discharged from neurology your on your own. Good luck. Kevin

kev60 Have you ever looked at MdDS. The main symptoms are a sensation of rocking, bobbing and swaying but people report other symptoms including ataxia, cognitive impairments, nausea, insomnia/excessive sleepiness, migraine (sometimes ‘silent’, sometimes not) and gravitational pull.

Hi, I have not looked into this and I would hope that when I had my 6hr ENT testing with three clinicians they found something. I now have so many diagnosis latest one PLMD (1st test= 36, 2nd test= 94 movements an hour). Thanks for the info always good to look at other ideas. Thanks again. Kevin

Hi Kev 60 you replied to me about a weird wave feeling and rocking, could you tell me if you feel as though your bouncing when you walk, and if you've ever felt as though your floating when you lie down.

Hi, no bounce when walking . My left leg crosses my right so I stagger to the right basically I look drunk. When it started in 2018 I had episodes where I felt like I was looking out of my own body but could not move, it happens usually mid conversation and I feel I have finished the conversation but then my wife will prompt me as to where I stopped. It happened in hospital and my sister was with me and she knew about it but had never seen it (she was shocked) , to me it feels like I am sitting in my own head just viewing the world outside. Sorry I can’t help you. I hope you find the answers you seek. Kevin

I fall about as if i'm drunk as well I fall to the left and go round and round in circles it must be so difficult to walk.I remember you said that you fall through doors in the opposite my body freezes as if i'm stuck to the floor it takes several attempts to get through the door. Thanks for your reply.
