Do you ever forget something that you should of done after being reminded. Today I asked Alexa to remind me to switch off the hot water at the switch at 9.30 am I went up stairs to do it and I still forgot , if I'm trying to do things I need to stop and think what I should be doing,.

I don’t like this forgetting things its getting worse, what should I do ? Should I go back to see my doctor and explain what's happening its getting very worrying, it's like I've got dementia I know it's all part of my FND but I'm scared.

I was told by a neurologist that people with FND forgetting is different from people who don't have it,people have general everyday forgetting things here and there but with FND it happens more often.I'm the same as you i'm worried about my forgetfulness as well most of the time I havn't got a clue what's going on around me or what people are saying to me,or what i'm meant to be doing. It's a horrible feeling I feel stupid when I can't take in what people are saying,or somebody will tell me something and within seconds I can't remember what they've said.I am 60 years old and your memory gets worse as you get older, I think to myself on my God my memory is bad enough as it is,so what am I going to be like when i'm older.I do a lot of stupid things I have went to put my electric fag up my nose when it was meant to be nasal drops because i've had both of them in my hand ,i've went to put the oil for my electric fag in my eyes when it's meant to be eye drops,i've walked away from the cash machine without taking the money the list goes on.The forgetfulness depresses me because I was always a very organised independent person and now I feel like a good for nothing spaced out zombie that doesn't want to leave the house.I can't give you any advice on how to cope with it because I can't cope myself but I wish you all the best with trying to live with this life changing condition.
