I was wondering how many of you notice everyday that things are changing with your memory and taking in a conversation it seems to go in one ear and straight out of the next . I do things then I forget I've done it , like turning a tap on and leaving the water running into the sink .
I can start a conversation then I stop because I can't think what I should be saying .
My older brothers don't ask anything about my condition its like I'm nobody.
I'm getting worried what's going to happen next with me .

yes. I get halfway through a sentence and I think I have finished it but I haven’t. I forget what things are called. Spend a lot of time word searching and often say a word that sounds like the word or starts with same letter - like heard and bird, or shirt and shirk. It is so embarrassing sometimes especially in shops etc. I used to try and explain and now I simply say ‘language problem’ and that seems better. Sometimes I don’t realise I have done it. Often I can describe everything around the word but not find the word. I used to be eloquent ☹️. I hope you can find a way of accepting this and living with it or improving it.
Thank you for your reply, its difficult I can't even go to appointments by my self ,everything goes in one easy and strategic out the next sometime I ho in the kitchen and can't remember what I wanted to fo 😞
I guess you can put a lot of down to aging but mine happened in a short space of time. Seeing a neurologist might help. I thought mine was dementia because my Mum has that but I had an MRI and it is not that (thank god.. for now anyway). Do you have a diagnoses of anything?
I have developed speech, memory and confusion issues over the past year. I have noticed a pattern between increased fatigue and speech/memory/confusion. Additionally, I am having times where I am lost. I got lost in our local grocery store, or when my husband was driving down a road near home. I could not figure out where we were, at all.
When I saw my neurologist in the Fall, he asked me to schedule an appointment for three months out. Not the typical six months. He is concerned that something might not be quite right, other than the FND.
I am 67 yrs old. Age could be a contributor, but this decline is too fast for normal aging.
I hope you can find a cause for your memory issues, and a good treatment for it. I wish you well.
I've had memory issues for sometime on and off ,but I've noticed it gradually getting worse , I'm at the doctors tomorrow so I attempt to discuss it if I can remember and she as time to listen yo me ,I do get scared that I will forget some important things in my life . I wish you all the best . 👍
I have the same concerns. Are things going to get worse. Am I going to develop other symptoms.I have noticed the things I struggled with has just been magnified by FND and my family has noticed. I am younger and have had the conversation thing happen all the time. It is getting worse.
I haven't left the tap on but I do get distracted easily and have a hard time finishing things such as reading an article or a few paragraphs sometimes. The only thing I worry about forgetting I have done it and doing it again is taking my pills. Taking too much of some of them could get me very sick. As far as I know that hasn't been happening. If I can't remember if I have taken them or not I just don't do it and may miss them sometimes this way but better than alternative.
