Hello littlecook.I'm not sure I can be much help but I can certainly empathize.
It's so frustrating when all you want is to be normal. It's unbelievable how dizziness and fatigue are so debilitating!.
I do know anxiety just makes all the symptoms worse. So. Distraction can help. Easier said than done.
But if you find yourself saying to yourself (like I did)
"Oh I'm so dizzy" constantly. Try to switch to "you're ok" "you will be fine"
Just try and be kind to yourself.
You are not alone. But I understand this is fairly new for you.
Things do improve.
I now have flare ups. BUT. There are times when I don't think about it at all.
Take care
Hazel.
Thank you ☺️
I think the advice from HB pencil should benefit you. We all have a tendency to focus on being stuck 'in the FND hole' and wondering just how on earth we are going to get out .. thus increasing our anxiety, and putting more strain on our already overstretched nervous system ...this time with the mind as well as the body ...getting into a vicious circle because then the physical symptoms get worse,... so some focus out of 'the hole' may help. I am glad they are looking into your anxiety meds .. do you think they are helping or would your body be happier with some more natural solutions as suggested by Lady4 ? Finding a way to release the body tension is very important, but maybe not the whole solution .. Experiment a little when you are up to it ..have you tried shaking? Best wishes.
One of the best pieces of advice I saw was " be bored with your symptoms". I know its incredibly easy to say but hyper focusing on symptoms, pain, fatigue, dizziness etc, just amplifies them. Try to distract yourself, find enjoyable activities you can do. Unfortunately the anxiety and dizziness areas of the brain are next door to each other and feed into each other.
Are you taking anything to help the dizziness? Also VRT exercises are often recommended for chronic dizziness. Vestibular Rehabiliation Therapy. You can find plenty of examples on Youtube. You need to do them daily and they can take months to work but they often do work. What is your diagnosis if you dont mind me asking?
Hello again Littlecook. I am experimenting with some acupressure points to help my nervous system .. maybe you could try too...good cooks like new recipes to try. See below for details
Hello, I totally get this. I thought some light gardening today would be okay. Bad call. Tackling leaves became pruning branches and I stupidly thought id cut a dead tree section. Had to give up. I neither know nor accept my limitations. I do now. Just diagnosed so every day is about learning and accepting.
I’m sorry , you know first level of pain you don’t feel just fatigue, by then your struggling . Any help is good , we have to keep trying and taking the knocks well done x
