FND autoimmune?

Did anyone see this new paper?jnnp.bmj.com/content/early/...

They are questioning whether FND might be an autoimmune disease, like MS, Crohn's etc. Makes sense to me. Kind of bizarre that they also included psychiatric comorbidities, but I guess that bias is just too hard to shake.

Hi Van694 think you could be right about this as mine did not start until after I had Graves’ disease. I also had seronegative arthritis which then turned into psoriatic arthritis. So thanks for sharing. Much appreciated

Not surprised, when mine was affecting my walking every day, and my brain was struggling to drive, I gave AIP diet a go as I nothing to lose, and things improved over the 4 weeks. I'm still able to work and drive!

I just found a free site with downloads etc for the AIP diet, will check it out. Thanks for drawing my attention to it.

I think the results:

Among patients with FND and ADs, 27.7% had ≥2 ADs and 8% met criteria for multiple autoimmune syndrome.

Confirm the belief that FND is quite prevalent with other conditions, some of which affect our auto immune system.
