Hi all, been a while since I posted here. Sitting in the ER. I went to sleep at 10:45 last evening. Experienced a very strong hypnagogic hallucination, shortly after 11:15) which I hadn’t experienced in a while. Caused me to jump out of bed. After turning on the lights I realized I had pronounced right sided blurriness. I’m now realizing there’s a muscle component to it. Right side is difficult to keep open, still slight blurriness. Faint headache due to the staring to keep my right eye looking straight? Again, feels like right sided muscles are working really hard. Has anyone else experienced this? Did it resolve over time? Just had a catscan, nothing, and waiting on MRI results (but we know how those go when dealing w FND)…. Pretty scared right now.
Also, over the last year, I can’t flex my right quad or bicep, without using all the surrounding muscles…while the left I can isolate the bigger muscle easily.

Obviously I'm not a doctor, so this is a guess, but I wonder if you might be experiencing a hemiplegic migraine. They effect one side of the body, cause impaired vision, muscle weakness and headache. If you have any numbness on that side of your face or body, that can be an indicator too. My neurologist told me they are very common in people with FND. lf it's that, nothing will show up on any of the scans. Whilst debilitating, they are not dangerous, and usually pass, so hopefully that is what is happening.Hope you impove soon and get good news 🤞🍀
