Is there a relationship between how the brain sends/receives signals in FND and the body's pain pathways?

I have scanned through a few posts and comments about what FND is and the misconceptions and incorrect classification of it.

So if there's a discord between the brain sending and receiving signals and we look at what causes FND - 1) Trauma (psychological and physical) and this include physical trauma as in abuse and accidents; 2) Viral Infections, where there's excessive fever over a longer period of time.

Can we deduse that in both cases, our pain receptors have been affected which influence our pain pathways, and hence the brain having problems sending/receiving signals. How do we determine if the pain pathways do indeed have a relationship with FND?

This is something I've been wondering about for a while, so it's all hypothetical for now.

I would like to hear your thoughts.

I think you may be right. I know a lot of people with FND also have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia (including me), but I wonder if at least sometimes it's a symptom of FND.
