Hi as I said before I have been told I have fnd. But when i first went to the hospital i was shaking really bad couldn't walk and had an mri scan that was clear, the said that I have had a nervous breakdown. Went to see an over noroagist, who then said that I had essential tremor even though I didn't shake when moving or doing something. Then went to see another noroagist who did some test like touch your nose and his finger well hold your shaking arm out that stopped shaking when I was doing something else. He said I didn't know what it was, then just said the next minute you have fnd so from not knowing to saying that. I dont know weaver to believe or not.

I dont shake any more haven't for 6 months that just went, but other symptoms have come but as I said they are there every attack I get and get worse and longer every time.

Dont know weaver to believe this fnd as it seems they are just telling everyone that's what they have. It's like one of my friends has ms and lesions on his brain was not long ago told that he has fnd but he is getting a scound opinion on that. I have read that people with parkinson's are now been told the have fnd not parkinson's it's like they are saying if you have symptoms like ms or parkinson's it's you dont have it you have fnd it's like an easy way out for them. You have fnd but we dont have the founding to help so get on with it your self. I'm I been to harsh about this

Hi - at a guess you will have been diagnosed with FND on the basis that you had an entrainable tremor. But since the tremors have gone, I'd seek a new diagnosis. I am glad your friend with MS is also seeking a second opinion. FND is over- and mis-diagnosed in people with a range of neurological conditions, including migraine, but it is also over- and mis-diagnosed for people who have rare conditions with primary or secondary neurological symptoms. If you ask around in your area hopefully you will be able to find a neurologist who doesn't hold with the FND dx and who will be able to get you the help and support you need.

be kind to yourself first and foremost .. make allowance for your reactions. It is no you doing it is your FND. Your body can not control the symptoms. The very first lesson i was taught from my treating Professor is that FND will come in 'waves' ...so if you can teach yourself to say "this wave will end" .. i found it stopped the overwhelm .. because all of a sudden, as out of control my body was, my mind knew enough to remember "waves end" .. So Waves .. what happens when you are being tumbled in the Waves? .. that will be whatever symptoms that you are experiencing at the time. It quite common to have overlapping symptoms, for some they very steady patters of symptoms, Have you been told about Professor Jon Stone. His website neurosymptoms.org will be a guiding light for you Newfnd1. I refer to as 'my bible' becasue it is the type of site that you return to to see if your symptoms match up to anything that Professor Stone has published on hissite. He a lovely lovely man and I have sat and listened to many a training and webinar through FND Hope where Professor Stone has gratiously given of his time, and come in and talked to us all .. So you also have a very valuable resource at FND Hope because FND Hope put on the webinars and the training things that we all need. Sweety .. it is going to be okay. I am now 55. I was diangosed lsat year - twice in 5 weeks -it will a long road back - however I have reversed my symptoms before and i believe you may be able to do .. Follow Professor Stone .. he will give you peace of mind Newfnd1 because that professor is a leader in global research, sees FND patients in his practice and walks his talk .. AND a bonus .. such a lovely lovely doctor. Gone aer the day when people can write us off as mental nut cases - and it thanks to pepole like Professor Jon Ston and FND Scieeentific Reserachers Neuro psychiatry research, .etc .. Professor Jon Stone i believe I heard him say .. geez wiz. best doubt check this bit .. I believe i was saying that because of Pandemic within the next 10 years there is going to be a major increase in diagnosis of FND due after affects of the COVID-19 .. I haven't slept for 3 days, so forgive me not going back to veriy my research notes .. would you mind doublt checking . i certainly know he said there will an increase in FND sufferes.
