Is there any advice on what type of employment is suitable for people diagnosed with FND? I have 2 weeks left of my long service leave at my current job and then no income. Scared of future after working hard and being a single income earner as a single parent with own house and now I may lose it all.

If in U.K. apply for PiP and ESA income related if you don’t have savings. Provided you have been diagnosed by a dr or consultant.
Im in Australia.
Sorry only know what to claim in UK
You must have some medical care for someone with a neurological disorder in Australia.
Hi, i think it depends if you are able to work, i find everything too overwhelming and lost my job i had for 14 yrs. Having spent just over 2 yrs on next to nothing, finally things have resolved themselves. I too am on my own, though very daunting it is a question of keep pushing along and hopefully things will get resolved eventually.

Everything overwhelms me, i dont know from one minute to next what will trigger me to either tears or soft voice or unable to put a sentence together or drag feet or fatigue or anything else.. are you from Aus?
That is the same as me, even just sitting is sometimes too much. I am in the UK so i went through all their system which is so wrong. Basically i was signed off worked whilst i was being diagnosed. Eventually they decided i needed MRI and to be seen by a Neurologist (Neurologist Appointments can take 9 months plus to be seen) hence the good ole Job Centre decided i could work, i tried to explain that i was infact awaiting to see a Neurologist and that i was told i could wait at least 9 months. I stuck on in there, eventually got my Neurologist Appointment, then from first being off work to a diagnosis it took 16 months, having got my diagnosis it has taken another 9 months until my benefits were finally worked out. It was a long haul and really pushed me to the edge, but finally now it is sorted, not that i feel that elated because i really struggle, but it is a worry less.

Applying for the Disability Support Pension through Centrelink is challenging to say the least but it can be done!!
My advice is to use the tables they have in order to get the language right - if you use lay mans terms it will be rejected but that doesn't mean you are not entitled to the support just that you used the wrong words.
Good Luck
What tables?
Here is the link to the tables I referred to.
legislation.gov.au/Details/...
It is a long document but quite easy to read.
It be eligible for the disability pension you must reach 20 points - how this is deemed is in the tables.
Being on the pension does not mean you cannot work - you report fortnightly how much you have earned and your pension amount is altered accordingly, anything earned over $150 (I think) reduces your pension by 40% of this (again I think those are the correct figures)
