Hello everyone, my name is Sean. I am 22 years old from Canada, and I am currently living in Japan!
Since I was 16 years old I started to get really bad health anxiety (hypochondriac) and it got worse and worse, and it was very crippling to deal with mentally and emotionally. I became slightly agorophic over certain situations where I felt it would trigger a panic attack or make me stressed out but I tried my best o figh through it! But I can Remeber very clearly the day my strange symptoms started to occur. It was after I had an emotional breakdown after convincing myself I was dying of brain tumor and that nobody believed me... Needles to say that is not the case at all... My doctor has always supported me and believed my symptoms, and gave me the tests when and if I wanted them. Such as: nerve conduction study, brain/spine mri, many many types of blood tests, and neurological examinations. All came back negative and from what I was told very healthy. I am an athlete, I go to the gym I play basketball and I enjoy getting physical.
My symptoms are only sensory, and I never experience any motor issues at all, I have this lack of sensation or lack of feeling done the the right side of my body, it first just started when I was 16 on my arm and leg, and gradually got worse as I encountered stressful situations and such... I just recently had another pretty stressful event in my life, and it aggravated my symptoms, but in ocotober I did as well and then I cooled down and eventually leveled out. Still had a lack of sensation but it felt "normal" on both sides of my body and I just went about my day, it always happens like that, I have a big stressful event or thing happen. Then the symptoms appear (get worse) nobody has ever even brought up FND my GP nor the neurologists that I saw. But when I found out about FND the sensory symptoms seem to matchup with mine, but only some of them, and like I stated earlier, I don't have any motor issues. I still have proprioception and know where my body is. But I still have This strange feeling, that has gone down the complete right side of my body head to toe. I have had many doctors look at my brain and spine MRI and absolutely nothing can be found. I can't find anybody with symptoms like mine, and I know FND is very much an Umbrella disorder, but it doesn't completely match up with me. Now my. Gut and people around me never notice anything wrong or abnormal about me, because I don't have any physical symptoms at all so I appear normal. I want know if anyone out there has similar symptoms to mean. I am not looking for a diagnosis just to see if someone is in a similar situation.
Thanks,
Sean
