So I shouldn't complain really...at least this can't be blamed on FND.

I've had what I thought was a cyst, on my nose, for about 10 years, but over the past year it's become regularly active, if not constantly so. I saw a dermatologist last week who thinks it's likely to be a BCC and I need a biopsy to confirm it. But I'm waiting for an appointment with immunology to investigate what appears to be allergy to local anaesthetics that the dentist uses. So when I turned up at the hospital today for the biopsy, they wouldn't do anything until I've seen immunology. Fair enough, but I did explain the situation to the first doctor, who said to just go get it done and make sure to tell the anaesthetist. Why couldn't he just check into it before booking me in for the biopsy. It has not seemed to occur to him there is, at least for some people, a degree of anxiety, that comes with hearing you likely have a BCC, and then that you will possibly need more than one procedure to your face, leaving you definitely scarred, and in my case "with a degree of deformity". I have been battling an ME/cfs flare for a few months, so the effort it has taken to get to these appointments is hard to explain. It might seem like such a small issue, but actually, I feel wrung out. It's a 3 hour round trip for a 5 minute appointment, that I didn't have to make if the dermatologist could have just picked up the phone or sent a letter explaining the situation. Bleugh!!

How frustrating for you. Stress is a major trigger for me so I can only imagine what you’ve been going through... hopefully the hospital can time all the appointments for you if they know you are travelling a distance to get there. Fingers crossed the next appointments go smoothly
