Hi all, I’ve had pip now for a year and a half and had disability living allowance before that. Both pay for my hand controlled car that gives me the independence I need to still to get me to work part time and be me!! I was working full time when I came down with FND 7 years ago and have just finished with the hospital as they couldnt give me the neuro phiso which was helping slowly. However the Nhs dont pay at my local hospital for specialist phiso unless you are an inpatient. My condition has not changed and I just got on with life working part time and using my mobility scooter or wheelchair to get around.
My husband is my rock and looks after me and our son who has grown up with his mum having these problems.
However my world was turned upside down yesterday when my pip that pays the car, and I thought here until next May. I had a form about a month ago to say that they were assessing my application for pip half way though. My Gp said I had nothing to worry about as my blue badge is also up for renewal.
Yesterday however I had a letter saying that they needed me to go to an independent health review!
The last time I was there the man doing the assessment was lovely and the moment he saw me walking he said you can use your scooter love, I’ve seen who you are struggling. I cannot understand as to why they are pullling me in? Has everyone else had these half way through assessments? If I loss the car - god knows how I will cope with everyday life.
Your thoughts would be appricated
