EEG help ...

I had a videotelematry and have received this letter ( cropped my address etc). I'm trying to decipher what this means ... has anyone else had experience in having results like this or can shed light on it for me ? Thank you in advance.

It means they didn't see any signs of epilepsy in the EEG. Generally speaking they will probably say it is Psychogenic NonEpileptic Seizures (PNES) in the US or NonEpileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD) in the U.K. You can Google the terms for information on them.

I've not had experience of this phrase myself, but on googling it I would tend to agree with Dreamgnome that it sounds like they are saying the EEG didn't show any signs of epilepsy. I did have an EEG which they simply said showed I didn't have epilepsy but they didn't explain further to me.

Try not to worry about it, though I know that's easier said than done. Your letter does say they will discuss the results with you when they next see you, but meantime the links above may help shed a little light on it.

I would site with what has been said as well. It sounds like they saw a little something, but nothing to alarm them at this time. I have had this test as well, and mine came back indicating I have both non epileptic and epileptic seizures.

So much fun either way. Don't stress, And brush up on your knowledge for your appt. It can help make sense of things. Best of luck

I would say to discuss this when you next see the consultant as I would read this as your having NO attacks during the telemetry. Did you in fact have a Seizure during this period? If not then it doesn't help diagnose your problem and further testing would be necessary.

No I did not have an attack during this period x
