Hi

I've recently been diagnosed with FND after 42.years with the condition. my greatest concern now is how to retrain my faulty thought processes so I can be or at least appear to be a better husband.

Good Morning, I have been living with this for over 18 years now. This is the only way to be a better husband, wife, or friend, do the best you can and love like you want to be loved. FND as I have said a thousand times over does not define us, it is something we have. WE just have to do the best we can on any given day, just like everyone else. The fact you want to appear to be a better husband is probably what you are already doing. You'll never be perfect, you'll slip and you'll fall just like everyone else, but its what you do when you get up that matters. God Bless you, Cathy

And I thought being in my 23rd year made me eligible for "senior" breaks. Now within two months of my 40th wedding anniversary. I serve her coffee and give her hugs. The expectations part of companionship dissolved into the little comforts we can give each other. Not possible to plan a day anymore. But sure look forward to each moment we sit on sofa together. It is OK. Know it is OK. I have the best person to be with in life.

Loved your answer, bought tears to my eyes as I always feel I've let my partner and family down. 1 hug makes all the difference just to be accepted how I am now not who I was..🤗🤗🤗
