Just wondering if there's any natural detox supplements while undergoing radiation for prostate cancer that has spread from the prostate.

Well, radiation isn't like a drug, or a heavy metal used in imaging, or chemo floating around our systems. So "detoxing" radiation to my knowledge isn't a thing. Radiation destroys tissue, cancer tissue/cells by the frequency of radiation applied which is akin to burning the cells if you will. Not sure there is a detox for this after the fact. Some supplementation has been shown though to be cellular protective vs radiation, if taken and present before the heat is applied... But that will the counter the desired effect wanted from the therapy, ie, killing the cells/tissue... So it's a conundrum...

Real question then should be, is there anything that can be used to enhance the effect of the radiation, that would allow a greater efficacy towards the targeted tissue alone. Better accuracy which spares the healthy surrounding tissue.

Anyways, toxicity from radiation is more from good tissue being treated unintended, in the margin of applied radiation. Nearby healthy tissue taking a hit, and later then reacting to the destroyed tissue. Biggest problem is the toxicity doesn't reveal itself sometimes until years later.

So the best prophylactic for radiation effect is to make sure you are receiving your care from the very best team you can access! Those that treat thousands, not hundreds... As repetition is the mother of skill!

Good Luck!

Thanks Cooolone. Your advice seems pretty logical.

if the side effects later on are bad you can get insurance to do hyperbaric oxygen.
