Blood when wanking

Hi everyone,

I had a template perinium biopsy about 3 weeks ago and my results are coming next week.

After the biopsy and before I was allowed to go home they wanted me to pee. This I did but the toilet resembled the shower scene in Psycho. My second pee about 3 hours later started with a little blood but since then nothing in my pee so I'm happy with that aspect of it.

After a few days I wondered if my prostate would work properly and the only way to do that was to 'have a wank'.

The resulting ejaculation made me feel sick. It was just more blood than semen. It was dark in colour and profuse.

I then left it for two weeks as my testicles looked black underneath which I took to be blood either in it's runny form or maybe congealed like when it's a bruise.

Anyway after two weeks I thought I'll try a W. once again. However,the same thing happened. it was all dark brown blood and plenty of it.

It looks so disgusting and just a bit frightening that I'm thinking of celibacy for at least a month just to see if the blood in my testacles dissipates or gets absorbed back to where it came from.

I can honestly say the my wife is going to have to go without sex (she'll probably say Yippeeee!) and so am I for quite a while yet.

Maybe when I get my results I'll ask the urologist when will this blood clear up.

But then again perhaps the results may focus my mind in other directions. Who knows?

Anyway, all I'm saying is ejaculate can be awful after a biopsy and may need time to heal.

BTW i'm 69 years old.

Okay terryswales, there are a number of questions that comes to mind...

1) Are you or were you on aspirin or blood thinners when you had the biopsy and afterwards?

Here is a list of supplements and medications that increase bleeding-see below:

The list is quite long and people who take supplements should take note as curcumin, garlic, milk thistle, grape seed extract are on the list... If you took some of these, it may have resulted in prolonged bleeding and thus, more blood to clear out of the system...

2) Is the color becoming darker or lightening up? Is the amount of dark blood seen--clots /quantity decreasing or increasing?? It is not unusual post prostate biopsy to have blood in semen for several weeks--no matter type of biopsy --from Mayo--see below:

The body does reabsorb blood through the fibrinolytic system breaking down clots but this is a slow process...

3) Has the bruised appearance around your testicles resolved yet? Is it getting better or worse in appearance?? Is it painful or becoming more painful??

If the appearance is improving then I think your body is doing its job to break up the clots and resolve the issue.

If things look better below, and you do not have dizziness, weakness, feeling faint....symptoms of excessive blood loss post procedure, then I believe it will resolve over time... For pain/ worsening pain or worsening bruising , worsening appearance of semen, then I would see the Urologist...

thank you for your interest. i was not on any medication whatsoever prior to the biopsy. the blackness/bruising on my testicles seems to be dissipating, albeit, very slowly. most of the bruising at the top of my thighs is also disappearing. i haven't masturbated since. i would like to but the ejaculation is horrible to look at. i think i will wait at least another couple of weeks to see if the blood somehow dries up or goes away on it's own accord. i always used to think to myself that i would ejaculate at least twice a week until i was seventy with a view to keep the bloody prostate gland working so that it would be given less chance to expand. well, that theory hasn't worked. my wife misses her share of sex also but understands that this will come good again hopefully sooner rather than later. BTW i get my results on this tuesday due to someone cancelling an appointment.

Here is some information on the fibinolytic system and the process called fibrinolysis which breaks down clots...I take NattoSerra--a combination of Nattokinase and Serrapeptase to help reduce clotting--2 enzymes listed in the article below:
