Therapy or Pills for Depression in Fibromyalg

Depression in Fibro is usually two fold. First of all the chemicals that are thought to be at the root of fibro effect seratonine and as such cannot be controlled through therapy, it is a clinical problem and in order to correct the depression the chemicals causing the depression have to be corrected chemically i.e. pills.

The otherside of fibro depression is the grieving for the pre-fibro life and that can be helped by therapy.

I have had both, and continue to be on anti-depressants, probably will be forever, but the way I see it is life with fibro is hard enough without neuro chemicals making me cry.

I also say both. I have Fibro and Parkinsons...so it's a double whammy. I was on anti depressants before all this, but had to have them increased and added another one, the depression got so bad when I was first diagnosed with Parkinsons. It's bad enough to have fibro but then you add PD and it's pretty devastating.
