Information for Carers

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help.

There are a number of organisations and benefits that exist for carers, but many carers do not access these, either because they do not see themselves as a carer or because they do not realise there is help out there for them.

Many people with Fibro have carers, even if they do not recognise that the role has this "title". Many of us need help and support at one time on another and family & friends provide us with this help. If your carer is having a hard time, encourage them to access support for themselves - for many of us, losing our carer for whatever reason would be devastating.

If you can get a copy of it, the book 'The Fibromyalgia Supporter: Everything Your Loved One Needs to Know' by Mark J. Pellegrino is old but good.

The following organisations and websites provide information & support specifically for carers.
