... And if so, do you find it helps? I am taking 450 mg per day, im sure my pain is less than it would be without it but I'm still in a hell of a lot of pain everyday :-( I have also put on over 2 stone in weight in 6 months

, does anyone know of an alternative ( not codeine, ice tried that!!)???

Hi Chorley, I take the Pregabalin, 50mg sertraline and I top up with cocodomol or paracetemol each day. I was diagnosed may 2011 with ME and Fibro and I appreciate I'm less active than I was but I still walk my dogs and run a family home ( sometimes not very well lol).

I know I need to go back to GP but to be honest my GP has been close to useless - unless I go to her and ask for something she seems to have little or no knowledge of these conditions :-(

Hugs and thanks xx

Hia Kirsty, i too take pregabalin and that took edge of pain, was taking codeine 60mg with it but did not mix, before was Tramadol but was sick and had sickness tabs, so now i have co-dydromol with them and paracetomol in between and its fine although bad days and good days no matter what you take.. I too run a family home and have had to employ girls to keep my work going as physically i have had it :-( but not giving it up as i not yet had diagnosis but had MRI that are proof of problems and waiting neurologist as neuro surgeon says the problem originally thought is not causing all this stuff..it is very wide spread. you made me giggle when saying you run the home but not very well hahah me too!! i cant wash pots properly anymore and slide pans from one side of units to otehr rather than carry haha, i make more mess than i do clean now and i am a self employed Cleaner heheh even better! xx we all here to chat .xxxxx

yeah you should talk to GP but as Christine says, they should not ask you if you need pain management, when you go pain managemetn if they say they dont think they can help! say yes you can and demand they help cos they will fob you off! they should be offering! get another opinion off some one else. I have had MRI's, Rheumotologist and Pain Management who lied and said i could not have a few injections in different areas! ohh but you so can! We go round in circles Kirsty . That is whats happening with me i got more Rheumotology appointments and neurology and keeping a diary of everything helps tool I find everyone on here is very helpful and will always try put you in teh rite direction.. I feel like an invader really as not got diagnosis but everything i have has been discussed with surgeons and GP 's and needs to sorted wtih Neurologist. I had a very very rare form of Glandular fever when was younger and this can cause problems later in life, so this is why they trying to sort it out. It is all about trying to find the rite thing to cope with what you have and making life that bit easier!! xxxx

Hi Christine, I'm going to have a look now at link. As regards my GP, she has been pretty useless and unless I tell her what I want she doesn't offer! Infact last time I was there we were talking about the pain management service and she actually asked me if I need pain management and am I on any painkillers- I could've throttled her!!!

Thank u xxxx

Yes I have taken Pregabalin Lyrica Took it for eighteen months.I did not find it made any difference. I had problems coming off this drug it gave me withdrawal symptoms Also during the time I was taking it I ballooned two stone.which put me way over the weight that I should be.Have now lost that two stone without having to diet. But on saying that the pain clinic dismissed me and told me to go back and see my doctor. My doctor does not know how to treat me None of the tablets I have tried have made any improvements only made me feel sick and giddy. I have had fibromylagia for eighteen years after contracting a rogue strain of glandular ferber. I have severe pain in my head neck shoulders and back at all times.Laying in bed doubles the pain I think I am going to have to sit up in a chair all night. I do have to count my blessings though this condition disease what ever it is is not going to kill me like a terminal illness we have to battle on and hope that there will be a scientist out there that will find something that will ease the terrible pain and the very low energy

Healing thoughts to all my fellow sufferers Stay positive keep the negativity to a minimum x

Hi Kirsty, I was on pregablin for a few months, it didnt help the pain and I also put 2 stone on in as many months, I couldnt wait to come off them. I am overwieght as it is so wasnt impressed but other people are on it and they lost weight or were fine with it so I suppose you dont know if it is going to help or not until you try it do you? xx
