Tired of being tired 🥱

I’m so sick of feeling tired and being awake at 3 in the morning and then when it comes to getting up for work I’m exhausted. I literally feel like I’m running on the 20% bar on my phone 😂😂😂😂. I am still no closer to finding out if I RA I have got to wait to see someone now on 5th October!! I’m a little worried about being on Naproxen long term as I thought you shouldn’t be on it long term?

Anyways I realised I’ve gone if subject and the main reason why I posted was to say I’m in the wide awake club once again and I don’t know how long I can run on barley Ny energy 😩

I’ve been awake since 6.30am after only going to sleep around 3am. I always wake up to pain too. Been playing games on my iPad for the past hour. I’m going to put on an audiobook now to see if it will help me drift off again. The constant exhaustion and insomnia is probably the worst fibro symptom for me and the reason I had to give up my job. It’s also the hardest thing for other people to understand. I’m sorry you’re going through this at such a young age. Hope you can find something that helps x

Arrggg, Bless you,If your worried about the Naproxen` see your doctor and tell then and see if you try something different, See if they can also give you something to get you back into some sort of routine for sleeping,

Take some rest days from your work if you can ,Nytol works quite well and calms,

Hope you get some relief soon, Mine is restless legs syndrome, I take enough meds to fell a horse but still have problems with sleep,

Take care Debs

I replied below but I'm also always awake at this time usually until about 5 or later, then get up about 9 and have episodes of crashing out then only getting naps. If I do too much I'm out for about 3 hrs flat. No amount of rest / sleep is refreshing. I'm also on Gabapentin for restless leg and pain. I don't like taking amatriptiline as it leaves me groggy, but I take it some nights and it helps to get me off to sleep.Lesley x

Literally I’m the same can’t not have a nap between 2-4 doesn’t matter how much I try and fight it I’m gone (unless at work then I’m occupied) but then I feel like shit for the rest of the day! And then when it comes to going to sleep I can’t sleep. And then when I do sleep, I never feel like I’ve been to sleep!!!!! Literally so fed up

HiNaproxen is my friend. I've been on it for about 3 yrs now but I know when I don't have it . For me it tops up the other painkillers I'm on. I take 2 at bedtime as I get alot of leg pain esp knees at night and this helps me to get some sleep.

With regards to side effects I couldn't say which ones are naproxen caused or other pills caused. I get dry mouth, constipation and brain fog but like said could be caused by the pregablin or the cocodamol I also take .

I feel it helps the pain in my knees better than the other stuff does.

Hope that helps

Xx

Cocodamol does give constipation, but senna helps or the liquid. Naproxen is a stronger ibuprofen type tablet. I'm on 2 250mg plus lots of other medications.Lesley x

Aha it makes me feel better than you’ve been on it for so long (not because I want you to be on it lol) I mean I feel better taking it now. I do keep thinking how much pain I was in, to how much pain I am in, I wonder how much I’d be in if I stopped lol hope that makes sense! I’m on pregabalin as well but I may ask for it to be upped I’m only on 75mg in a morning 25 in an evening and 50mg at night. I also take mirtazapine and sertraline, oxibutyn ( not sure if I’ve spelt that right) plus co codamol when my pain is really severe and ibuprofen gel on my joints yet I’m still swollen and still in pain wooo x

I have been on Naproxen for many years, around 7. It hasn't really helped with my pain, mabey it does and I'm just so used to being on it, I get widespread pain through having osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia along with other things. I've just had my right hip replaced and at week 8 on Monday. I have asthma and that's one reason drs don't like to prescribe it but I've not had any reactions. It's 250 mg 2 times a day I'm on.

I hope you get some results from your appointment. Push for answers if your not happy. I got tested for rhumatoid which they said I didn't have but my Dr and that consultant didn't give me an x-ray for 5 years of asking and result was by that time my osteoarthritis had got worse. I knew something wasn't right but they just kept giving me tablets and saying go out and walk...while in extreme pain!

You know your body so make the experts listen.

Take care and hope all goes well.

Literally that is what I was told go and exercise I’m like are you hearing me!!! I’ve been on naproxen for a couple of months for the swelling, but I can’t see any difference. My appointment got cancelled got to wait now till 5th October. So I’ll keep plodding on, I just had a wobble about my life lol, thanks for the response it had definitely made me feel better xx

I know the feeling. But you haven’t clarified on what wakes you so here are a few ideas…

8 hours before bed, don’t have any liquids.

Every day have a seista, like your midday lunch break. Put an alarm on so it’s a 15min Power Nap. After eating, Just close your eyes and no commotion around you. Even calming music can be a distraction. But if it’s noisy where you are, maybe that can help. Even if you don’t sleep, you need that calm and shut eye time that you’re off your phone. This should refresh you for a portion of your work day.

Exercise daily. Make sure you have some physical and mental stimulation every day. Even if it’s just a 15min walk an hour before bed. (It’s refreshing and helps settle your lunch/ dinner). It’s calming.

Keep a notebook and pad by your bed, and make a to do list and write 3 achievements/ happy things of the day. Pray. This should calm you and put u in the write frame of mind for sleep. And get your worries and anxieties out your head. You don’t have to remember once you’ve written it down. You can forget and just look at your list in the morning. Planning your next day makes you less anxious about the following day too.

And lastly, try not to have deep conversations just before bed. Else they will play on your mind.

Make a routine. That you will sleep at least between 10pm and 2am. They are the most restful hours. If you wake up and can’t sleep, don’t force it. Don’t stay in bed. Have a mug of warm milk and do something ‘boring’/ calming, like listening to prayers or planning your day, what your going to eat etc. and not stimulating (aka, stay off your phone) .

Don’t have big meals for dinner.

If you wake up, the worse thing you can do is check your phone. Try sleeping without checking it. You might sleep. As soon as you see the blue light your mind thinks wakes wakes. So try not to even look at the time. Clocks are good. Especially digital ones.

I hope this helps. Just a few ideas.

Power naps are so beneficial. Sit upright but relaxed for 15 mi uses clear your mind let no thoughts in and listen to the silence. It recharges your batteries. Too much thinking and noise can wear you out.

Hi Dave your right about pushing thru, I’ve had mine since I was 11yrs old, only then it was diagnosed as muscular rheumatism, I got proper diagnoses few years later, I have many other conditions too, I’m now 82 yrs old and feel if I hasn’t of pushed thru it every day I wouldn’t have made it this far, u can’t just give up, it doesn’t do u any favours if u do, although I gotta say I really feel like giving up now, I’m just so fed up now with going thru this pain daily , but hey ho that’s life , hope u are feeling a little better today & have a reasonably day take care

Yeppppp I definitely know I can’t give up and push through lol I have family and doctors telling me that! But I thought writing it on here at least I’d get empathy as I know you all know what I’m going through.

I still work full time but that is all I live and breathe work because I’m too tired to do anything else. I just get in my head about everything especially suffering with depression that I’m like I’ve got s longgggg life ahead of me and can survive?

Hiya, sorry for late reply. It is okay to be on naproxen, but you must be on a stomach protector like omeprazole. I completely understand with regards to waking up at 3.00am, it's so hard when having to go to work, as a result of the fibomyralgia I am no longer working, I hope you feel better soon, take care xxx
