I was turned down on attendance. I requested it to be looked at again. I phone up and the person was really helpful he went through it all with me and when he got my forms up on computer he said he thought the accessor contradicted themselves. He told me to send in my letter for xray of shoulder and also my letter from dr who sid they were changing my meds and i was getting sent to pain clinic for my pain. I also have to get more xrays as my xray showed i may have a cyst or errosion in shoulder. Im also going to orthopeadic clinic in due course. Hope i dont have to wait too long on decision for im finding it hard with pain im in and its stressing me out. Has anyone been through this with A allowance. Thank you for reading im so stressed with worrying about this.

attendance allowance
I'm sorry for the difficulties you've faced with Attendance Allowance. Just to stress this is for the personal care you need during the day/during the night as well if you have needed that help for 6 months.
Your next stage is a Mandatory Reconsideration (MR), where another DWP decision maker will look at everything again. This is best done in writing.
As well as the medical evidence it's suggested you send in, of more importance is a couple of real world examples as to the difficulty you face. Try to elaborate at every applicable opportunity as this will bring your claim alive (many people can have the same disorder, but will likely be affected differently/ have different care needs, so show this).
Don't put off waiting for further medical information, as a MR is usually done within a month of your decision letter. Try not to stress, & my best wishes.
Have a look at thr Citizens Advice website. Type in your web browser "Challenging an Attendance Allowance Decision" and probably the Citizens advice website will be the first to come up. The first paragraph has somewhere you can click on to get to more information. Whatever you send make sure your full name and national insurance number is on every page and every piece of evidence and do make a copy of the original document as they are past masters at losing things.
Age UK also have quite a bit of information.
Good luck with it.x
What’s attendance allowance?
It's a non-means tested benefit for those of State Pension age & over if they have care needs (even if no-one cares for them) due to a disability. There are 2 rates, one for day/night care needs, the higher rate for a person who needs care/supervision during both the day & night. You have to have needed such care for at least 6 months before applying.
