I am new to this community. I've spent 3 years trying to figure what is wrong with me. I have body pain in wrists hands shoulders ankles. This condition appeared after I quit drinking ( I am a recovering alcoholic). Doctor, and I've seen many both privately and nhs have never mentioned fibromyalgia until a couple of weeks ago which surprises me. I'm taking things into my own hands as I'm tired of not knowing what is wrong with me...and would like to get better. Any suggestions much appreciated in terms of how to approach doctors and get a better understanding of what is wrong with me.

Hello and welcome, I was diagnosed by my doctor, after 6 months of being under his care and appointment s fairly regular, different blood tests taking were all clear, reacted when touched on certain pressure points on my body . Generally a diary of symptoms that happened daily. Some docs do send patients to rheumatologist if they cannot make a decision. If you can see your doctor and start making a list of symtoms that are regularly happening that will give him/her a better picture also, GPs normally will order routine bloods . Hope you find the forum helpful should you get a diagnosis eventually, in the mean time take care.
I would ask your doctor to refer you to a rheumatologist then you would no if it is fibromyalgia or another condition.good luck hope you get sorted soon🤞
