Yes afraid so. I’ve suffered with my head since I was young. Years on I still can’t find anything that helps apart from sleep it off. I was diagnosed with daily migraine syndrome about 6 years ago. I thought I was given a duff hand in life then, but years on the pain just kept spreading. I carry a heat pack for my neck everywhere I go. I find it’s definitely related to the neck somewhere. And I don’t know why but I find vicks a life saver in my temples. Anything is worth a try no matter how silly you think it is! Best of luck x

Hi, many people with fibro find they get regular headaches.

I find most days I've got a achey head - that's not quite a headache but feels like one is going to start but doesn't

I also get migraine-type headaches which get triggered when my neck muscles get too tense/tight and these can last a day or two.

However, if the headaches are a new symptom it is best speaking to your gp just in case it's something else causing it x

Hi I have suffered with headaches since 2007 ironically it started after I had Lidocaine infusion injection to help with widespread pain. I developed high blood pressure, tinnitus & severe headaches. The Neurologist told me the headaches was caused by a nerve in my brain being irritated by fibromyalgia. I take Pizotofen each day, after trying several meds i have found these work the best for me. I have found that reading to much from from my phone, laptop and even using game consoles irritate this nerve which then causes pains in my eyes and headaches. I hope this helps in some way, good luck.

I have chronic migraines, I suspect it's the migraines plus trauma in childhood triggered my fibromyalgia. I inject myself with a neuropeptide once a month which has helped a lot. Had to go through a lot of treatments first (about 13 different drugs). Are you able to get a referral to a neurologist or a gp that specializes in headache?

As Hazel says new headaches need checking. Meds is something you could check yourself (leaflets, web, pharmacist), too, e.g. Amitriptyline when too highly dosed in my case, and then talk with your docs about it. Now I get them when my blood pressure is too low, so we've decided to decrease the blood pressure meds again. (Blood pressure went up due to fibro.)
