Hi I have fibromyalgia and been on gabapentin 300 mg for 3 weeks my first treatment

My sensory issues are worse than any thing I could ever exsplain to anyone that has never been through this I feel like I’m isolated I can’t cope with outside world at all at the moment

Medication Making me feel so drowsy but muscles relaxing a bit more

I have done more in 2 weeks than what I’ve done in years which has been an absolute life change for me in the first few weeks but then a few weeks in things have changed

Please could you share if anyone has been the same as I’m feeling very nauseous and it’s making me think I can do a lot more than I can handle because I have had a few fall’s in results of thinking I’m stronger then I believe since taking these pills leaving me with injuries to my leg and wrists

Could anyone advise to side effects really feel I’m fighting a losing battle 😔

Pain in every part of my body don’t want to be on medication after this experience or adleast one that is not going to impair my mind

Is there anything anyone else on here would recommend thanks in advance

hi hon I had to cut down on my meds because the original as with you is too many side effects, I am on 300 now, was on 800 but make sure u get 8 hours of sleep, I had to stop using during the day, due to the side effects, so only take at night, also on +dulocicain, cyclobpriism, for muscle spasms, I suggest tylenol, during the day, I also take a baby asprin every day too, heating pad, icy hot other otc remedies, also a unit 10 will help too, prayers that you feel better soon

Hi,I'm not a drug taker, to be honest I am scared of them all. My doctor has offered me everything, but that's all they do have to offer.

I cut a lot of sugar out of my diet, just the big culprits, biscuits, chocolate etc and I feel so much better, aches and pains and my digestion has benefitted too.

If you are not a big sugar eater, look at your diet, there is a lot of hidden sugar as you probably know, and I've not cut everything.

Also I dink a small glass of milk a day for calcium relaxes me and helps me get better sleep.

Obviously these things work for me, but it's worth a try... Best wishes.

I agree sugar not good and sweetners also can really inflame and exacerbate pain.👍

I think the sweeteners can be worse that a small amount of sugar, personally.

I was scared of all like Funkyfaerie, but tried all that were offered and all had much too big side effects, most immediately, and even Amitriptyline, which I used for 4 months. Apart from skin and seizures problems I like you had nausea from some, but especially drowsiness and tiredness, which were better after weaning off. I would agree with Teresa to try to cut down first, in the hope of using it as a life-belt to get energy to get other things habitualized, like pacing, finding sweet spots and physio (e.g. cold/heat, breathing, gentlest yoga). But if you still feel numbed & tired or think you would be - like you? - I prefer a bit more direct pain to not being able to think straight and stumbling around all day!

I agree; I take very little medication, apart from a few vitamins. I have managed over the years to learn to ignore many pains, and the bony ones (arthritis and a damaged knee) I manage with over the counter Ibuprofen. I do have a few CoDydramol, which I will only take in the direst of pain.

I have learned to recognise what pains are 'real' e.g. with a physical cause, and which are a result of the Adrenaline overproduction caused by CPTSD and stress.

medication side effects can take a month or two to settle down sometimes going down to a slightly lower dose then slowly building up the dose again can help.

If you have done more work than usual, then it is most probable that you are in a flareup. The change in the weather doesn't help either.
