WBV plates

Has anyone used Whole Body Vibration plates/machines for exercise or pain relief. I've been researching them with a view to buying one. Thankyou

In the past on here, many have said oscillating plates are more beneficial than vibrating ones. Hope this helps :)

Tried previously .... Couldn't even manage 30 seconds at the lowest setting, and set me into a major pain flare. But I have heard others saying they helped them

Hi flash12 I've used them for years and find them a really easy way to exercise muscles. You can adjust to suit your needs easily, I've added a link for you it's the newest version of the one I have. idealworld.tv/gb/pp/vibrapo...

Aw good I really don't think you'll regret it but 30 days gives you a good bit of time to try it! 😊

I have been using one for a couple of months now in the morning to help relieve the stiffness I also do some yoga stretches. This was recommended to help with myofascial release.

Hi flash12,

I used a vibration plate for exercise during the first lockdown. Bear in mind I'm 30 years old and quite muscular, considering I have fibromyalgia. I had just started squatting with low weight.

The whole experience degraded my sleep drastically and I had to stop it after a few days. The vibration would get to sensitive muscles around the neck and make them very tight.

At some point, it trapped a muscle on my upper back and would make me smile all of a sudden when I would make a specific move. It also woke me up in the middle of the night very suddenly during deep sleep.

After I stopped and got back to normal, I tried again a week later with the lowest setting. Still the same.

The results I was getting for the glutes though were amazing!

That could be specific to me but I felt you should know. If you can find one to try first or be able to return it, give it a try.

All the best

I tried one at a cryo therapy clinic and done just under 10 minutes as I could feel it starting to trigger lower back pain and ended up in a major fibro flare. I’m not sure it was the vibration plate that caused it as I was already getting some symptoms before but I don’t think I would use one again.
