Yes I have Fibro and I also have had chronic sinus problems and often said to GP about the feeling in my ears but they were always clear when GP checked them. I stopped saying about them but still often experience the feeling.

I'm exactly the same. I have tinnitus and get a feeling of blocked internally itchy ears yet there is rarely any sign of infection and they never need syringing. I also get pain in my face going out to my ear and behind it.

Hi Annab124,

Have you spoken to your GP about this? If not, I would make an appointment to see your doctor. Not everything can be attributed to fibro, and your symptoms could be down to a number of things, so best to get checked out x

I’ve only spoken to my gp about the pains I’ve gotten not the blocked ears yet . I just want to know if a lot of people with Fibro get this x

No, this wouldn't be a symptom of fibro x

I’ve googled it an it says a lot of people who have fibromyalgia complain about the ears being blocked too x

The noise isn’t constant (touch wood lol) but I’ve noticed it’s happened a few times where it goes really high pitch

It sounds like vertigo. Not sure I would put it down to Fibro. You should talk to your GP if the noise becomes troublesome.

I get High pitched noises. They almost sound like radio waves when your tuning in to a frequency. Well that was when my nan had one of them 1960's radio's with the two knobs either side. I've had it for years. I've had balance and dizziness problems or two years. That's been put down to vertigo and Fibro.

What Fibro symptoms do you get ? X

Balance problems, a neurologist told me the balance problems was associated with Fibro.

Yes, but my ears haven't been right since I was a kid, they've gotten worse over time though. Mine can be itchy, sore, feel blocked, noises aggravate them and that in turns makes my anxiety worse, I have tinnitus which I've had since I was a kid, even the outside of my ears hurt, I also sometimes walk to the right (if that makes sense?) like I'm leaning that way? My Son's noticed me doing it too, I have dizzy spells even when I'm sat down.

I was diagnosed with Vertigo, I had started getting headaches in around the 90's, I had different tests, tried migraine meds, the meds didn't help and the tests were fine so they put it down to Vertigo. I've had headaches 24/7 since the 90's, nothing helps them.

Have you cleaned your ears to see if it's wax causing the problem? You can get stuff from the chemist. If you have tried cleaning them, then I would definitely go and see your GP.

The joys of having fibro!

I’ve had this for two and half months now and been on multiple pills for vertigo and nose sprays. Nothing’s helped and it’s odd as I was reading in the news Canadian diplomats in Cuba and American ones in China are suffering from these exact symptoms and they are unexplained. Here’s an article bout it globalnews.ca/news/4906544/...

I,ve been booked for audiologist appt. I have a permanent hissing in one ear, when i go out where others are speaking around me I cannot hear the person I am with speak cross the table and so getting it checked.

I don't have the blocked ears thing but I do have the ringing/buzzing. I've been told that it is part of the Fibro. Strangely, I'm kind of used to it now but I keep my GP up to date with how it's going, I've been told to get in touch if it gets to be annoying. I would love to know the definition of annoying though! I hope you get some answers and some respite soon. L. XX

Sorry to hear you've got an ear problem, scuse the pun. I too have an ear problem with itchy ears, the ear canal is very itchy and secretes a small amount of watery wax that stinks. Ive had it checked and swabbed, its because of another condition that causes dry skin, the ears being part of it, it causes irritation which you try and itch causing inflamation etc. Im permanently on steroid ear spray to stop the dryness and itching.

I have had ear problems, dizziness, vertigo, tinnitus and full feeling. I was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease a few years ago but not convinced it’s not fibromyalgia related. See your gp to be referred to ENT specialist. Good luck

Trigeminal neuralgia can cause these symptoms, I believe this is what I have although GP gives me ear drops every time I go to talk about the dizziness, pains in my face, jaw, sinuses, and have even visited the dentist as feels like wisdom tooth pain in face. It is a painful and deliberating problem and you have my sympathy, especially the dizziness. Maybe you could ask your GP to consider your symptoms and the possibility it may beTrigeminal neuralgia. Hope it calms down soon darling x
