Fibo PIP

Does anyone know if Fibo will pass the PIP assessment for the higher rate of PIP. This is all new to me. Any advise will help.

It all depends how the Fibro affects you and how much you are able to do for yourself. I receive PIP higher rate mobility and lower rate care. Have you applied already? Hope it will go well for you. 😊

Hi

PIP is not awarded on your illness but on how your illness effects you in your daily life

Thanks for your reply it is interesting to hear other comments.

Not so much what illnesses you have but how they affect what you can do physically with looking after yourself on a daily basis and also how it affects your mobility. Good luck with applying.,x

You will only get the higher rate Iff you can't walk further than 50

Meters You cant handle hot cooking You have trouble going to the loo You have trouble bathing And youneedwritten evidence

in reply to

You only get the higher rate if you can't walk more than 20 meters. 50 meters will get you the lower rate of the mobility component

Its no way near 50m, they wont award u nothing if u can walk 50m. Its 20m or less now. Also the latest satistics of people getting pip atm are at an all time low so i wouldnt bother applying just yet. But good luck for when u do coz u will most defo need it with the way they run things.

Love you photo do you have pip x

Yea sorry that's correct I can't walk hardly at all now but I'm afraid that if I speak up they may take it all Away

in reply to

That's a hard decision to make, PIP can feel a bit like a lottery. It's a risk, it depends if you got the energy to fight if needed.

Thanks, no i dont, i applied and it took them 5 staff to understand what a home visit meant & the last one only understood that because i told him i wanted their complaints procedure details coz im sick & tired of them all being so bloody thick that none of them knew what "i need a home visit" meant coz they kept sending me appointments to go to, that were over 400 miles away n i cant sit for any length of time due to having DDD. It was only then that i got a home visit date n time land thru my post box very next day with their complaints procedure lol.

Assessment was a joke and the daft cow didnt put anything down that she had been told so got no points, then i appealed & it went to tribunal n the 2 so called drs there wouldnt have known their arse from their faces & should have really took up emptying bins instead & the judge couldnt get out of that room quick enuf like he was gonna miss his train or something, wasnt interested in anything i had to say, nor did he even bother to look at the huge wad of my medical notes/ evidence, letters n mri scan results etc he had in front of him, which i brought for him to see.

Told me cant give me an answer now n will get it thru the post nxt day, which i never did.

Got it two days later and my apeal had been rejected & all that lot from start once posted claim form back to finish (tribunal) took TWO YEARS!!

2 Years worth of stress n hell n god knows how many phone calls n prat arsing around gathering all my medical notes/forms etc.

Havent applied again since n that was about almost 3yrs ago now.

Have just replied but ur prob gone offline now 😔

Iv just applied for the higher rate myself, scarey as I could end up with less, depending on assessment etc. This system is all wrong😠.from what iv learned on here it seems too work on the' how your disability effects your daily life' and what you Can't do.but seems that there's no ryme or reason ad too how they decide who gets what, its a bit like they just go eeny meany Minny mo,an just choose that way, but you should always appeal if you don't agree with there decision,I think they make it hard so people just give up,good luck with yours x

Couldnt have put it better myself. Im pretty sure thats what they are doing. I have heard that they reject everyone 1st time round but thats not the case as i know few who got it first time and they can do a hell of alot more than i can do. But also i signed up to these emails where this company fight them for u well give u ideas etc and yes they want something like £15 a year subscription but i didnt sign up to pay or do anything like that.

I wanted to get their monthly emails coz they update u with whats going on with the Wa***rs and that includes pip aswel as dla transfers ESA, Universal credit etc and their most recent email said that atm pip awards are at an all time low and are the lowest they have ever been since their crap system was put in place

in reply to WestysWifey

We shouldn't have too go thru this

As others have said it's about how it affects you. 10 yrs ago I quite rightly would not have qualified, 5 yrs ago possibly but 3 yrs ago I got lower rate mobility then 18 months ago I got higher rate both. Best of luck x
