Hi

I'm very sorry to hear of your problems.

I was diagnosed about 2 years ago after having symptoms for years, I have not hear of what you've been told you now have.

My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Good luck and best wishes.

I was told at the same time I was diagnosed with Fibro that I also had functional neurological disorder, consultant at hospital told me to go home and Google it as she didn't know enough about it to give me any advice.

Really?? How bad is that?? Was it a neurologist who diagnosed both? Sorry, asking too many questions again 😳🐸

Yes it was a neurologist, they claim because it's to do with the wiring in your brain going haywire and it's not something they can "sort" then there's nothing they can do for you but apparently it's only a temporary thing that only lasts a couple of months. I've had it for two years now and still no improvement.

Hi Scottish-Piglett sounds like the neurologist you were seeing was as a great help for you as I would have thought that it was there job to be updated with anything that's to do with the brain which fibromyalgia is a totally different illness though it can mimic 1 of another as I don't know about other people but it can also mimic MS...... Have you lost any functionality in your body....xx

Wow! Sorry to hear that you have so much to put up with! I haven't heard of that before. It's one of the things I love about this forum, that there is so much information.

Are you being treated by a neurologist for both? The neurological disorder sounds scary. Have you had it for a while or has it been undiagnosed for a long time? Asking too many questions, sorry 🐸

Hi please feel free to ask any questions as if you don't ask you. Don't find things out x I don't see any neurologist at all now as they showed very little interest in my condition all I was offered was a speech therapist which she had done a few tests which was called the white noise which involved playing a loud music and for me to read words so really what it was to see if I could speak without hearing myself but It didn't work I was also offered physio 4 times a week I live at least 35-40 miles from hospital I was to be able to get there myself and by this time I was wheelchair accessible????

Hi martha41

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? Welcome to the forum and it is wonderful to make your acquaintance. I have never been diagnosed with FND but i have pasted the *Google definition below and I am sure many members will be able to relate to this description:

*Functional neurological disorder (FND) is a condition in which patients experience neurological symptoms such as weakness, movement disorders, sensory symptoms and blackouts. The brain of a patient with Functional Neurological Disorder is structurally normal, but functions incorrectly.

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Hi, I was diagnosed with Functional Disorder by the neurologist and then six months later I was diagnosed with FMS by the rheumatologist. I can not find out what the difference is between the two. Do you know?

Thank you Wavelength
