About to be diagnosed with pmr,

Hi can anyone with pmr tell me what life's gonna be like, it's hell at the moment,such pain, will I lead a normal life ? Very worried ,I'm only 51.

Do you also have Fibromyalgia?

Hi again 

Click on My Communities at the very top of the screen and you'll get a drop down menu. 

At the bottom it says Browse Communites. Click on there and choose the forum you wish to join.

There is an excellent PMR forum here on Healthunlocked. Just look above to Communities and scroll down to PMR. I was diagnosed one year ago with elevated CRP and Sed Rate-inflammation markers. You should be given prednisone and if your pain gets better within 48-72 hours that's a positive diagnosis for PMR. The prednisone will take the edge off your pain, but you may require additional pain medication. I highly recommend warm pool physical therapy. It has really helped me. Also make sure your specialist looks for fibromyalgia as the two conditions have overlapping symptoms. There's a lot of good information online and you'll learn a lot on the PMR forum. Don't stress! Things will gradually get better and you'll find lots of support on these forums. Take care my friend!
