I think you would need to be referred by your GP to occupational health as they would be able to supply you with a wheelchair.

You used to be able to borrow them from the Red Cross but I am probably out of date!

You can still borrow them from the Red Cross and its expected that you give them a donation. Otherwise, if your Dr. thinks that you need one, you are referred to OT and they do an assessment to provide the most suitable one for you. If none of these suggestions are right for you, then you can buy one from Amazon, or any mobility shop, or even 2nd hand. I hope this is helpful, and that you get fixed up soon.
