Oh my goodness, that's amazing. They're acrobatic little fellows that's for sure :) In terms of "nutz", I'm afraid to say it has nothing on the Great British Bake Off squirrel.

Exciting news. I've booked a holiday to the Cairngorms for October. I can't generally go out every day, so wanted to find a place with squirrels nearby. I found this cottage where not only do they have red squirrels and the adorable crested tits feeding in the garden, they also have badgers and pine martins visit on a nightly basis. I am soooooo excited. I'll probably stay at the cottage all day snapping away :D

All makes up for the lousy news I got from my doctor yesterday. I have labyrinthitis. Been feeling a bit dizzy for about a week, but as I've not been outside I hadn't realised quite how bad it was. Felt so ill by the time I got there. Added to that being stung and reacting to a wasp sting on Monday and stabbing myself with a scalpel on Tuesday. You've got to laugh haven't you..!

It's my birthday today - 42!!! Can't move around much due to dizziness and my partner is at work :( So, I did myself some hot milk, been eating some giant Cadbury buttons (bday pressie) and watching The Hobbit :)

I know how to live ;)

I'll post one of my squirrel photos for you Foggy.

Oh pip, I'm so sorry you're feeling so ill, just take it easy and I hope the dr has given you good meds which will clear it up for you really soon. To have a wasp sting you too was the last thing you needed !! I won't ask how you managed to stab yourself with a scalpel......or will I ? ;-)

I'm so pleased you've got a holiday booked and with all those lovely creatures for you to enjoy snapping away at. Years ago I was staying with friends up on the west coast and had the joy of seeing a golden eagle, it was breathtaking !! The red squirrels were all round the lodge and I took some good pics, but they I'm afraid went with my old pc, I forgot to transfer them on to a memory stick ......... Lalalala foggy at her worst !!!

Anyway, have the very best day you can and I hope you feel much better very soon, sending lots of healing vibes your way and balloons etc plus a vast virtual choccy birthday cake to help you celebrate :-) :-) :-)

Lovin' the choc cake... yum! Balloons are really brightening up my lounge :)

Re the scalpel... I was cutting the artificial grass we've just laid on our roof garden. I was doing the edging and had a difficult bit and thought, I know, the scalpel will get that. Somehow it must have flipped. As I put my hand down to use it, the sharp end went into my hand about 5mm. Ow! Even I'm not sure how it happened.

Sorry to hear you lost your pics. I would be devastated. I have a number of backups as you can imagine ;) You have some good memories of them though :)

The dr said I have to wait for the labyrinthitis to clear itself. He's given me some medication to help with the sickness feeling. Well, so far it's just been a feeling...

My neighbour has got labrynthitis too atm, just waiting for the dr to come. Can't risk trying to get her downstairs, she's morbidly obese and it took 4 firemen to lift her last time she fell, so she's in bed with instructions to stay there until the drs been, she was sick whilst I was with her (yuck yuck yuckety yuck !!!), how I'd didn't end up joining her I'm not sure !!

Now I have to check something here pip, you mention in the scalpel incident that you are having artificial grass on your roof garden, I do hope if you have dogs that they are cooperative as a person I know had the same thing done and the dogs promptly took to weeing on it all the time....... big prob ! and said grass had to come up which was very very unpleasant task !!

Have the drs only given you anti emetics or do you have antibiotics too?

Your friend's condition with the labyrinthitis sounds awful, and you did well not to be sick too by the sounds of it. My doctor prescribed prochlorperazone for the sickness, but no antibiotics. I've got to wait it out, though friends who've had it still seem to be suffering years on. I'm being positive that's not going to happen to me (fingers crossed).

Re the grass, it's pet friendly. His 'going to the toilet' won't (shouldn't) affect it. Also, it's easy to clean, can be hosed down, and any water (liquid) will drain off, as although its a flat roof it slopes in both directions. Will post photo tomorrow. Hopefully the above is right else I'll be having something to say to the company we bought it from as I purposely checked this with them. Will keep you posted :) We laid it on Sunday - no nasty smells, etc atm ;)

I hope your friend feels better soon, though doesn't sound like this is a quick thing to get over unfortunately.
