Hello all, does anyone else suffer from very bad fatigue? If anyone could suggest things that have helped, that'd be great!

I don't think anything helps, pace your self when you do things

Remember things can be done tomorrow, sit down often, go

To bed at the same time.

Not much help, I believe we have to put up with this, Vit B12 helps

A little, I hope you find your answer in here

Good luck viv

Sorry to say, the only way for me is to give in to it. The longer I try to fight it, the worse it gets and the longer it lasts. I think it probably will take time to work out the best way that works for you. I wish you good luck. Rest if you need to, and dont feel guilty for looking after yourself. xx

For me the things that seem to have helped are giving up diet coke, taking co enzyme Q10 and marmite every day .....

Oh, and trying to pace myself - which may mean going to bed at 7 30 some days or napping at lunchtime if I can.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I just take life very slowly - it's the only thing that works for me. I can do most things if I don't hurry :)

Fatigue is a common symptom with Fibro. Treating the Fibro should help this, but sadly many of the more common medications used have the side effect of making this worse!

If you're not waking up refreshed in the morning, then there is an issue with your sleep quality if not quantity (typical with Fibro). This should be a priority for treatment as without restorative sleep, your body cannot recover from each day and things that can otherwise be helpful (physio, exercise, etc) may not be of any use.

I have cfs to so yes....fatigue is a problem. Understanding mitochondrial dysfunction has been a major help because I know know that fitigue can come from something I did yesterday of the day before. There can be a build up of little activities which lump together eventually. Spoon theory is worth looking up.

Once you understand it....then supporting your own system becomes easier. I also take co q10....200mg a day. I get it from amazon ....drs best....Holland and Barrett etc are expensive and sell in 30mg tabs....

Then theres the 9 food commanents which helps for fatigue as well as pain.

Nightshades drain me of energy quickly.

Caffiene and sugars strip me of the ability to sleep so again steal my energy.

Dairy is a big trigger for me.....as is yeast. I personally was very addicted to marmite but as it is yeast it was doing me more harm than good.

Msg and aspartame are known neurotoxins. When my body is fighting these chemicals it becomes exhausted. Neurotoxins obviosly increase pain.....or rather lower pain threshold.

Many have a problem with gluten even though they are not caeliac. Wheat boosts me but I can have oats ok

Beans, and legumes including soya can be another trigger. Thankfully I seem to be ok with soya

Its good to increase omega 3 so I only have meat once a week now. I have fish. That's given me more energy too

Dr myhills site is very useful to look at

I had heard a lot about nightshades being very bad for things like Fibro and Arthritis.

That's meant to be wheat boosts sorry.

Pacing is important.....inactivity can be as bad as too much activity. Breathing fresh air is wonderful.....even if just for 5 minutes in the garden. I was told ....walk round the garden. If it makes you worse rest.....if it makes you feel better do it again x

you will need to try to pace yourself,, if you're having a good day it is tempting to try and do all the things that have been waiting,, DON'T DO IT!!!,, ;-) i'm sure at some point we have all fallen in to that trap,, rest is important, even if it doesn't fit in with everybody else's schedule! we are a law unto ourselves when it comes to how much rest we need, and when we need,, I often wake feeling like I haven't been to bed,, so then I just put something dull on tv and let myself drift off and snooze, , all morning if need be,, but I find that being out in the daylight, even for ten minutes, makes me feel brighter,, even if you don't feel up to a walk,, just spend some time in daylight,, if you wear glasses take them off when you're "light collecting" ,, the experts reckon they filter out too much of the available light spectrum,, hope some of this is of help to someone,, we need to help and support each other, always x

I am constantly tired, more so when I have shopping to do, so I've found something that helps. Berocca Boost, I drink a glass of this nice tasting vitamin ten minutes before I leave. The little energy boost gets me through until I get home. Then it's back to agony as I put the shopping away. :)
