Infertility Network UK would like to congratulate Professor Robert Edwards on being chosen by BBC Radio 4 as a ‘New Elizabethan’ for his outstanding contribution to fertility treatment,

Professor Edwards, together with his colleague Patrick Steptoe, pioneered IVF treatment in the UK and were responsible for the birth of the first IVF baby Louise Brown in 1978. Since then over 5 million babies have been born through fertility treatment world wide.
