Should we go ahead with Stimulated iui?

Hi everyone, We are waiting for my period likely to be anytime from tomorrow and first iui cycle ( the meds are: letrozole, trigger shot and cyclogest) but I also have an ear infection, started antibiotics (flucloxacillin) yesterday which are due to finish in 5 days. So they will be out of my system and I'll be recovered before the insemination but I'm worried about the effect of being unwell so recently.

Would you still go ahead with the cycle if this was you? I appreciate that there might not be a medical reason not to proceed but it's expensive so I don't want to waste a try! A reason for going ahead now is that I've recently had a hycosy test and read that the time immediately after gives you higher success... and life is a bit quieter so it would cause less stress if we were to do it sooner rather than later.

I think that, since it was several days before the theoretical "conception" (which would be after insemination) nothing would happen. Even in the first days of conception there is the so-called "all or nothing" law, which explains that either the entire process stops and the embryo does not continue, or it continues without any problem.

But ask your clinic anyway! Sending a virtual hug!

Hi! I was in a similar situation with my last FET and actually had part of the course of antibiotics after the transfer. My clinic assured me this was fine (there are lots of antibiotics that are safe to take during pregnancy and mine was one of them). The transfer was successful. I read afterwards that the antibiotics might have had a positive effect. So if I were you, I'd go ahead. Good luck!
