I've just been reading how many of you have had such amazing care and attention at your private IVF clinics. I don't know how to choose a clinic apart from distance to home but I don't think this is a good decider. Could you please tell me which clinics have given you the expert care you are paying for? UK or abroad. Thankyou

Best IVF clinics
we looked at the statistics and distance from us as two were in our city, we chose the one with slightly better success rates but barely anything in it. A lot of it’s down to luck…
We did multiple cycles in the UK and nothing worked. I went to North Cyprus after a "break" from IVF for a year. Don't know if I can say the clinic name here. It was for DE and my first try with them gave us our miracle baby. I wish you all the best and I hope that you find the perfect clinic for you. x
I honestly think that although some clinics are poor generally, most are just consistent with the average. I would look at the hfea website stats before picking and go with that.
Our clinic did things I didn’t like. They wouldn’t test progesterone, didn’t always explain things well, and they were awful at answering the phone for example.
But they also didn’t sell me treatment or add ons I didn’t need. They were really quite brutal at times about our chances and what we should do, they did listen to what I wanted (although I was hideously stressed and almost completely unreasonable at the time).
The clinic we looked at in the next city was much fancier and seemed to do a lot more monitoring and tests but has a much lower birth rate esp for my age group.
I would have changes if I had been treated badly, had poor advice or major issues.
A lot does depend on distance, as with certain parts of IVF you will be travelling to the clinic several times a week, so it does need to be accessible. I don't know how abroad works.
We have 3 or 4 clinics within about 2 hours of us. Google and FB reviews helped, plus going through their websites and success rates.
We ended up choosing a clinic that was not the closest option to us but is around an hour and half away. They have been fantastic. I don't know whether we can put names on here, but they are based in Chelmsford Essex.
So far we do not have a baby, we have had a few issues, but the clinic always suggest new things to try and have been open to all suggestions we put forward. They always answer the telephone and emails and explain everything well, repeatedly if needed. It really does feel like they are on your side and rooting for us as well. I also personally know two couples who got pregnant with this clinic (we did not know before signing up to them).
So we are very happy with our choice and about to go into our second cycle with the clinic.
I'd suggest doing any online meetings with them, call them and ask what they offer, visit them for open days, don't be afraid to ask why they are different. They should be happy to answer all your questions.
I'm not sure why others don't think we can put the clinic names on here? I am currently ten weeks pregnant and we went with the Evewell clinic on Harley Street. They have been brilliant, they do progesterone tests even on the day of transfer, have an emergency line that is open evenings and weekends (when most clinics leave you to fend for yourself) and their success rates are higher than the UK average for people under 37. I would highly recommend.
